SMS Terms & Messaging Policy

This SMS Terms & Messaging Policy ("SMS Terms") describes how JobyDesk ("we," "our," or "us") and its users send SMS text messages and how recipients can manage their preferences. These SMS Terms supplement our Privacy Policy and Terms of Service.

1. About JobyDesk Messaging
JobyDesk is a field service management (FSM) platform used by independent service businesses (HVAC, plumbing, electrical, locksmith, pest control, and similar trades) to communicate with their customers about active service jobs.
When a recipient receives an SMS through JobyDesk, the message is sent on behalf of one of our user businesses (the "Service Provider") to the recipient about a service relationship between them and the Service Provider.
2. Types of Messages You May Receive
By providing your phone number to a Service Provider using JobyDesk, you may receive transactional SMS messages including:
- Appointment confirmations and reminders — Confirmations, reminders, rescheduling notices
- Technician arrival updates — ETAs, "on the way" notifications, completion notices
- Job status updates — Service progress, completion confirmations
- Invoices and receipts — Billing notifications, payment confirmations, receipts
- Customer service conversations — Two-way messaging with your Service Provider
- Account verification codes — Two-factor authentication codes for JobyDesk account login
Marketing and promotional messages are not sent through the standard JobyDesk service.
3. Consent
You will only receive SMS messages from a JobyDesk Service Provider if:
- You provided your phone number directly to the Service Provider, AND
- You consented to receive SMS messages from them at the time of providing your number (e.g., through a service intake form, online booking, or verbal agreement during scheduling)
Service Providers are contractually required to obtain your prior express consent before sending you SMS messages through JobyDesk.
4. Message Frequency
Message frequency varies based on your service activity and the nature of your relationship with the Service Provider. You may receive messages around scheduled appointments, during active service jobs, or in response to your own inquiries.
5. Message and Data Rates
Message and data rates may apply. SMS messages are sent and received through your mobile carrier, and standard messaging rates from your carrier apply. JobyDesk does not charge recipients for receiving messages.
6. Opt-Out (Stop Messages)
You may opt out of receiving SMS messages at any time.

Reply with any of the following keywords to any message you receive:
What Happens When You Opt Out
- You will receive one final confirmation message acknowledging your opt-out
- You will not receive further SMS messages from that Service Provider through JobyDesk
- Your opt-out is processed automatically and immediately
Re-Subscribing
If you change your mind, you can opt back in by:
- Contacting the Service Provider directly to request re-enrollment, or
- Replying START or UNSTOP to a previous message thread (where supported)

Contact Your Service Provider
For questions about specific messages, appointments, or invoices, contact the business that sent the message directly. Their contact information is included in their messages or available through your service relationship with them.

8. Supported Carriers
JobyDesk SMS service works with all major U.S. mobile carriers, including but not limited to:
AT&T, Verizon, T-Mobile, US Cellular, Sprint, Boost Mobile, Cricket Wireless, Metro by T-Mobile, and most regional carriers.
Carriers are not liable for delayed or undelivered messages.
9. Privacy
Your phone number and message content are handled in accordance with our Privacy Policy.
10. Compliance
JobyDesk messaging complies with:
- The Telephone Consumer Protection Act (TCPA)
- The CAN-SPAM Act (where applicable)
- CTIA Messaging Principles and Best Practices
- A2P 10DLC requirements administered by The Campaign Registry (TCR)
- Applicable state and federal communications laws
Service Providers using JobyDesk are required to comply with all applicable laws and JobyDesk's Terms of Service when sending messages.
11. Reporting Abuse
If you believe you are receiving messages without consent, or if you believe a Service Provider is misusing JobyDesk messaging:
Include the phone number that sent the message and a brief description of the issue. We investigate all reports and take appropriate action, which may include suspending the Service Provider's account.
You may also forward unwanted SMS messages to 7726 (SPAM) to report them to your mobile carrier.
12. Changes to These SMS Terms
We may update these SMS Terms from time to time. Updates will be posted on this page with a revised "Last Updated" date. Material changes will be communicated through the platform or via SMS where appropriate.
